| Uses |
| This medicine is used to treat nasal allergy
symptoms including itching, runny nose, nasal congestion,
and sneezing in patients 6 years of age and older. |
| Contraindications |
| Do not take this medicine if you are allergic
to any ingredient in this medicine; you have infections of
the nose; you have sores or injuries (eg, nasal surgery, frequent
nosebleed) in the nasal passages; you have herpes infection
near the eyes; you have tuberculosis. |
| How To Use |
| How much medicine you take and how often you
take it depends on many factors, including the condition being
treated and the age and weight of the patient. If you have
any questions about the amount and/or frequency of the medicine
you are taking, talk with your health care provider. Shake
this medicine well before use. Avoid spraying in the eyes.
Be sure to throw away this medicine after the recommended
number of sprays because the medicine may not be as effective.
Read and follow patient instructions provided with this medicine.
Usual dosage for adults and children is 2 sprays per nostril
per day. Effects of this medicine are not immediate and depend
on regular daily use; benefit usually occurs in a week. Clear
nasal passages prior to use by blowing nose. If nasal passages
are blocked, use a topical decongestant spray to ensure penetration
of the spray. Do not use topical spray longer than 3 consecutive
days. This medicine may be used alone, or with a systemic
antihistamine or decongestant. Contact your doctor if sores
or injuries occur in the nasal passages(eg, nasal surgery,
frequent nosebleed). This medicine may prevent or slow proper
healing. Infection of the nose and throat has been linked
with long-term use. Such infection may require stopping this
medicine to allow healing. If symptoms do not improve within
3 weeks or worsen, contact your health care provider. After
the desired effect is obtained, reduce the maintenance dose
to the smallest amount necessary to control the symptoms.
Avoid exposure to chickenpox, measles, or other infections;
if exposed, contact your health care provider at once. Do
not continue therapy beyond 3 weeks if there is no improvement.
Report any unusual fever, muscle or joint pain, weakness,
hives, sneezing, nasal irritation, depression, or fluid retention
to your health care provider. Exams may be necessary while
taking this medicine. Be sure to keep appointments. |
| Side Effects |
| Every medicine can cause side effects, but
many people have no, or minor, side effects. Tell your doctor
or pharmacist if any of the following occurs: Common- Adults
and children 12 years of age and older: Headache; dry nasal
tissues;nasal congestion; throat discomfort; sneezing; nosebleed.
Children 6 to 11 years of age: Nosebleed; cough; fever; nausea;
throat discomfort; ear infection;indigestion. Other- Nasal
irritation; burning; stinging. |

plan on becoming pregnant, or breastfeeding; if you are taking
any prescription or nonprescription medicine; if you have
any other medical condition |

| Missed Dose |
| If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible.
If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for
the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless
advised by your doctor. If more than one dose is missed, contact
your doctor or pharmacist. |
